The WHMIS course is 4 hour course designed to provide a basic knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. Upon completion the student will have a general understanding of WHMIS, an understanding of WHMIS labelling system including hazard symbols and an ability to understand information contained on Material Data Sheets. Participants should also know that their employer is required to respect " their right to know what hazards." are associated with the hazardous materials being handled or used in the work place, and that the employer must provide whatever is required for them to work safety with these products. A certificate is awarded upon completion and is valid for a period of 3 years.
