Site Safety Coordinator Course
The Site Safety Coordinator (SSC) is a four-day course, which runs from Monday to Thursday. It is designed to enable safety individuals to perform the basic core duties of a Site Safety Coordinator. As such, graduates shall be capable of providing assistance and advice to supervisors and managers on the formulation and implementation of their workplace safety monitoring. This course was developed to give participants with a greater awareness and understanding of the fundamental and the practical aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations. The SSC course content includes hazardous occurrence causation, safety responsibilities, evaluation techniques, inspections and surveys, hazard recognition and controls, safety precautions, statistics, standards, of the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and other safety legislation. Additionally, this course provides the understanding of the requirements of personal protective equipment, accident investigation and reporting, and the introduction to promotion and motivation of safety in the workplace.
This course will be a benefit to all those designated as health and safety coordinators, foreman, safety committee members, OFA 2/3, project managers, as well as managers and supervisors.
Our course is instructed by the author and primary trainer for the former British Columbia Safety Council’s Trade Safety Coordinator (TSC)/Construction Safety Officer (CSO) courses over the past 20 years.
