Arbor Safety Consulting Services Ltd has formed a partnership with Worksafe BC to bring Worksafe Education courses to the business communities. These courses are designed especially for workers and employers who wish to learn how to prevent workplace injury and disease and reduce associated accident and injury costs.

The Workers Compensation Amendment Act now requires employers, workers, and others affected to comply with its requirements. These requirements help create a working environment that protects and promotes the health, safety, and well-being of workers. Compliance with these requirements provides a basis on which workers and employers can, in cooperation, solve workplace health and safety problems. Non-compliance of this Act may result in fines. If you have not received the WCB Bulletin Bill 14 Update go to the website: www.worksafebc.com

All courses are eight hours and can be scheduled as 1-day workshops.

Worksafe Certification issued upon successful completion for each course.

WorkSafe courses are suitable for occupational health and safety committee members, supervisors, workers and health and safety professionals committed to preventing occupational injury and disease, and for members of the general public interested in acquiring a better understanding of risks associated with their work.

Who needs training?

WorkSafe courses are suitable for occupational health and safety committee members, supervisors, workers and health and safety professionals committed to preventing occupational injury and disease, and for members of the general public interested in acquiring a better understanding of risks associated with their work.

If your organization employs more than nine people, you are required under the Workers Compensation Act to establish a joint health and safety committee (20+ employees) or designate a worker health and safety representative (9–19 employees).

The Workers Compensation Act entitles all committee members and worker representatives to eight hours annual paid educational leave to attend courses conducted or approved by the WCB. One way to meet that requirement is to take WorkSafe courses.

WorkSafe courses, which have been developed by WorksafeBC and meet the requirements under the Act, are available through Arbor Safety Consulting Services

The following Six Training Courses have been specifically designed to help organizations meet Occupational Health & Safety Regulations established by Worksafe BC.  These Worksafe courses can be customized to meet your organizations specific requirements through a needs assessment of your organizations industrial background.

The following courses can be scheduled upon request:

Successful participants will be awarded a WorkSafe Certificate. Students may also apply to BCIT for .5 unit of credit towards an elective component in BCIT’s Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program.
